A crisp October day, the lovely location of Stoke Mill, family and friends in abundance and the promise of some superb food, it was no wonder that the lovely lady celebrating her birthday had a constant smile on her face.
I love photographing birthday celebrations, they’re such good fun, get all the family together and friends too and make for great candid photographs of guests, recording both them and the occasion for posterity and present. Stoke Mill made for a brilliant location for this party. Situated in Stoke Holy Cross just a short distance South of Norwich the old mill provided the party with a bit of privacy, an interesting and beautiful setting and a contemporary dining experience in a fantastic looking restaurant.
Family and friends arrived and chatted over drinks, or for the children played with games in a large room off the main restaurant area whilst others watched the race of water that once powered the mill from the warmth and comfort of the restaurant area. A lovely tennis themed birthday cake sat in the corner of the restaurant and picture books of the lady of the day circulated the room for a little amusement. The food was finally served and that was reason for me to leave the family and friends to an afternoon of fine contemporary dining, the food looked great so I’m sure it was great to enjoy.
I hope you like a few of the photographs from the event, it’s always a joy to be able to do what we photographers call candid or reportage photography in the main and I hope you agree that you see some lovely results. If you have a party planned why not get in touch.
