"At Home" photography sessions capture real moments and a family enjoying their own space whether that's your home, a grandparents home or a holiday home. These photography shoots are a great way to record young families where the childhood home is often such an important part of a young person’s life and memories. They’re also good when members of your family aren’t very mobile as they allow everyone to be included.

Given the choice and depending on the weather it’s great to photograph families immediately outside their homes and inside their homes during an "at home" session. It often provides a great way to incorporate family pets into shoots and for parents with young babies means that all the comforts and facilities you require are within easy reach.

I often find that clients can be a little worried about outdoor sessions as there is a fear that there may be onlookers during a shoot and although this fear in my experience is usually unfounded it can be preferable to stay where you’re most comfortable.

Gardens, conservatories, outbuildings and living rooms make for great photograph locations and the beauty about home shoots is that you can also easily incorporate favourite activities, toys and more in a session. Past lifestyle shoots at home have included everything from swimming pools, to gardening, football games, trampolines, caring for animals, local walks and horse riding among other activities.
